This year, Fresh Forward will be participating for the first time at Fruit Logistica in Berlin. This leading trade event for the international fresh fruit and vegetable marketing sector is being organised on 6,7 and 8 February 2019. We warmly invite you to visit us in hall 11.1, stand B-02!
At our stand, you can discover Fresh Forward's first Mediterranean variety of strawberry: Calinda. The first high-quality fruit produced by this variety is currently being supplied to retailers in north west Europe from Egypt, Morocco and Spain.
We are proud to present Calinda to you with its dedicated packaging + logo. And you are naturally welcome to taste this delicious strawberry at our stand too!
The Fresh Forward team will be available to explain all the (commercial) possibilities offered by Calinda.
Fresh Forward will also be presenting its apple concepts Magic Star® and Natyra® at Fruit Logistica in Berlin.
The organic apple concept presented under the brand name Natyra® is an open concept. Within the open variety concept, organic apple growers in Europe may plant trees of the apple variety SQ159, and then market the apples as they wish. In Europe, some 250 hectares of orchards are currently being planted with Natyra®. Natyra® apples are offered to consumers in various ways across Europe. One thing is sure; if you choose to eat a Natyra® apple, then you know it has been grown 100% organically!
The second apple concept Fresh Forward would like to present to you is the Magic Star® concept. The unique aspect of this concept is that, as the breeder and variety owner, Fresh Forward will be entering into a collaboration with various top retailers in Europe.
Within this cooperation, another unique aspect is that Magic Star® apples will be exclusively produced locally. This approach will give consumers a 100% safeguard that the Magic Star apples® he or she buys from the retailer actually were produced in that country. Contracts has already been agreed between Fresh Forward and various European retailers in Belgium, the Netherlands and the UK that cover the introduction of Magic Star®.
The foundation of both concepts is the SQ159 variety, an apple variety that consistently ranks in the top 3 best-appreciated apple varieties in various European consumer tests.
The amazing flavour, good storage properties (12 months) and exceptional shelf life of the apples and the fact that they can be grown environmentally consciously, makes this a variety with outstanding potential.
